He listened closely to her description of the meadow. He was curious to see how this would turn out, for he had never seen such a sight. He let his mind play a picture which became his expectation. He imagined the dance of the fireflies. Beautiful and gentle. Of course bugs aren't usually beautiful, his mind lead him to believe of such a thing. "It sounds beautiful Ember" He nodded in response after his mind was done playing. He slowly followed her with a rhythmic pace. His little tail wiggled when the fireflies came into his thoughts again. They reminded him of Ember's flares. the stay sparks that came from her hair. He had never really seen fireflies before, so this what he saw them as in his mind. If he had seen them he hadn't known what they were. (This was really hard to type because my cat was sleeping on my keyboard xD) (Aye Andi!! We both didn't use it for a while xD but I missed Roleplay. )

"Look!" She exclaimed when the meadow came into sight. Soft evening light blanketed the meadow and the fireflies began to dance. Ember sat back for a moment to see what wonder would cross Cove's face. As the fireflies became more abundant, she stood up and bounded farther into the meadow. She joined the joyful dance of the fireflies and was so excited for Cove to see something that had always made her so happy, but the magic had only just begun. (I'm writing a short story about this XD)

(definitely good to be back. do you want to make a new thread as well? I'll have to remember my characters xD)
He cautiously stepped forward as he saw the fire flare of light come from the sky. I was a yellow is color. Not what he was expecting... His face didn't change much. He had a content smile on his dullish face. He whispered some words to himself. He sat in the grass on the edge of the meadow, documenting the site. His ears twitched as an excited Ember bounds into the field to play with the fireflies. He didn't want to join her. At least not yet. Instead he studied the way she interacted with the curious creatures. She would help him remember this. Whether or not this would turn out to be a good memory is yet to be determined.
He soon followed Ember into the field. He crouched down and disguised himself in the tall grass. He moved over to where ember was and smiled at her "You were right, this is pretty neat Ember."

"Jump around a bit Cove! Its part of the fun!" Ember giggled and licked his ear. And here came the magic. Ember bounded into the middle of the field and raced about in different patterns. The fireflies rose like flames, disguising her sparks, happily flying from her coat. The fireflies formed into shapes, dandelions being blown away, campfire flames, anything she could imagine, "c'mon cove, try it! Just run in the basic shape your want and think it, and they'll do it!" She laughed and raced around

He chuckled at her pup like behavior. He did follow her but not to the extent of hyperness as she. He was never a very active in being playful or fun. He just watched as the fire flies mimicked her moves. It was beautiful. Like nothing he had ever seen before. (Writers block xD sorry bb)

(That's fine love, I get it) She giggled and raced towards him. She collapsed in a heap of giggles. She licked his ear, his face. "You're too serious Cove! Come on! Play!" She leaves onto her feet and burst into the field at full speed, "I hope you have an idea of where to go on your part of the adventure! " she raced about a little more to let him think. She wondered a lot of things about Cove, but she was afraid to ask him much yet, worried she had scared him with her showing how much she loved him in the first place. She decided to give him some time alone and let things unfold as they went along. (I'm sorry this is a yucky reply)

He stood as a statue will Ember licked him. Not a stiff awkward statue, but he just stood with a smile. Listening as she spoke to him. Instructed him to play, which he wasn't to interested in. He enjoyed watching her, but joining in would mean he would put his guard down which was dangerous. He was also never the extremely fun type. "I think I'll watch you make art instead." He gave her a kind hearted smile. "I don't really have any place as stunning as this. I usually just wonder and i end up where my legs take me..." He sat back on his heals as she ran off again. He was already letting his guard down with Ember. He glanced down at his necklace and shook his head. Closed his eyes and muttered some words. "I better not be making a mistake..." He thought to himself and sighed. After thinking for a bit he raised his head back up to watch Ember. He envied her playfulness, but he wasn't as free as she.

"Surely you've been somewhere a good!" Ember raced around but slowed as she realized how different she was acting. She never had this much fun, but this meadow... Changed her. Or was it the meadow? Was it Cove? And how could she be so much herself in front of him? She never acted as her true self near other wolves, especially ones who she'd only met a while ago. She stopped and Cove's smile caught her eye, so she smiled back and paced towards him. "Think Cove, I'm sure you've wandered somewhere nice?" She lay down beside him in the warm summer grass and waited while he thought.

He smiled and chuckled at her words. "Of course I have been nice places, but going back to the same place is boring when it's planned." He watches her pranced around some more. His head stayed still but his eyes followed. The wind blew his necklace to the side, but he payed no attention. "I say we wing it. You never know where you'll end up. And the journey there is the best part." He looked away as she settled in the grass. Thinking. His mind began to bring up the past which made him quiet and tense, but tried his best to hide. He had changed right?

"I suppose you're right, Cove," she smiled. A feeling of anxiety swept over her, so she stood up trying to busy herself. "How about we start now? In the dark?" She blurted her idea out without meaning to, "I mean..." She shook her head, " I didn't mean to say that," she admitted. She sat down, " Sometimes I just say things. We can stay here for the night. " she sat down, embarrassed.

Suddenly feeling better, she stood up. Am I really going to- she stopped her thought and leaned close to Cove. I know I need to back off but- she closed her eyes. She was so desperate for someone else. She had been alone so long. And she had a terrible feeling deep down that Cove didn't want that too, but she was willing to take the risk. She hoped that Cove was just slow to open up, so she fell into an awkward hug with him. She heard his heart beat and was filled with warmth. She really did care for him, every beat of his heart was special and she didn't know why and she became angry. Angry that she had made this wolf uncomfortable because she wanted a relationship, angry that she cared so much even though she knew she shouldn't trust anyone. " I'm..." She pulled herself back. "I'm sorry. We don't have to do all this. You can go back. To being alone and I will too and I won't bother you anymore." She started to walk away, wondering if she'd ever find someone and not feel bad about trusting them. She was confused and just wanted Cove to be happy and she just didn't know if she could make him happy. (Thought I'd spice this up a bit? Give Ember a little more character? Nothing against you and Cove, I secretly love him xD)

(Nah Nah, You're good, help develop both characters heheh. but it's not a secret if i know xD )
He Smiled at her reply. Not a cocky smile just a nice friendly one. He watched her get up and listened to the ruffle of the grass followed by her voice again. He agreed with the idea but didn't interrupt her. he gave a small nod in agreement but perhaps she didn't notice. He continued to listen to what she had to say in case of any other ideas. He was surprised and stood up slowly to meet her eyes.
"Ember, you don't have to apologies to me. Or anyone for that matter." He sat back down with her. "Share what ever ideas you have. Share whatever thoughts you want. I won't care. You don't have to be afraid to say things. They are only suggestion. They can't hurt no one." He finished his lines confidently. Hoping to make her feel better. She was sweet and one of his best and only friends. Ever since he was left no one talked to him. He was lonely. He didn't necessarily mind. He got used to being alone and it was different to have someone by his side again. a little weird actually. It's not that he didn't like it he just had to get used to it again. He did like it though. There was just something about her that drew him towards her.
Cove watched Ember as she adjusted herself. He still had a kind smile on his dull face. He didn't say anymore. He felt he should but he didn't know what to say. When Ember hugged him he embraced her back. Nuzzled his nose into her fur.He too felt guilt and anger. He was angry at himself. She deserved someone so much better than he. He was truly scared to open up to her. Just the thought of someone else knowing the truth. Someone else shutting him out and leaving him to die. Alone. He was confused on what to do. He trusted her, but not enough to share who he was. But that would, hopefully, come in time.
His ears moved as she began to spoke again. He gently let her go. As the words came out he felt a ache in his body and his heart. His brain stopped dead in it's tracks. His words just weren't there to stop her. He didn't even look up as she stared to walk away. Finally. He spoke. He had a scared tone. His voice was shaky. "No..." He took a deep breath and looked up. "...don't leave" He begged. For what reason he didn't know. His mind wasn't n control anymore. he whispered"...Don't leave me like" He lowered his voice. "...like they di-" He managed to stop himself. looked down at his necklace and shivered. He had never acted so lost and hopeless as he did in that moment.
(You don't have to do a long reply xD I was just putting reaction from all the stuff you said before from the previous post)

Cove's soft voice caught Ember off guard and she felt a terrible pain. What was she doing? She felt the pain Cove had and stopped in her tracks. What was going on with her? She sat down, feeling terrible for assuming what she had and threatening to leave him. She felt a terrible sadness clutch her as she heard the last words come from Cove's mouth, hearing that he didn't want to be alone. She felt terribly guilty because she knew exactly how he felt. A tear rolled down her cheek and she stood up and paced back to him. "I'm sorry, Cove," she buried her face into his fur. " I don't want to hurt you. I just. I don't know anymore. This whole event, I just. Sometimes I just get stressed and worried that I'm bothering people or... I'm sorry."

He stayed looking down. His face was emotionless. It was plain and dull. Like when they first met, but there was a different kind of darkness to it. It was cold. He starred downwards whilse he moved. Acted like she wasn't there for the moment. Did he really want this? He didn't necessarily want a relationship but he wanted a friend and someone to be with. To help him feel important. Of course things could escalate into a relationship but he didn't like to rush into anything. Become friends and see what happens. He new she wanted something more serious and more commitment but was he really up for that? Especially with such a young and vulnerable wolf. He's been through it before, and did he want to do it again? He didn't know. But he new he needed someone at this time. To help him cope and let his mind settle again.
He again put his paws around her. This time it was different. He felt different. His body was more cold and empty. Much different than the previous hug. He didn't speak. He just took slow breaths with some niffles mixed in. Sfter she finished her part he spoke softly. "I'm not worried about being hurt. And you dont have to worry about hurting me. Its gone. Most of it is gone. I've been empty from feeling for a long time. What will hurt me is my memories. I don't want the same hurt for you. Even the slightest heart break is under bearable." He sat back to look at her "You think about the negative too much. When you don't have to. You won't bother me. I am different than you yes. Different circumstances make me act different, just because I don't play in the Field like you doesn't mean it bothers me, I like to watch you play. You are an extraordinary young wolf. Don't think anyless of yourself. I said I was going to help you and I'm going to keep my word no matter how you annoying you may get" he smiled at her but his face was still cold. Body still numb. His dull eyes had lost that little sparkle he was beginning to gain back. But he was still with her which was what mattered.

Ember felt a rush. Cove's paws draped around her, it made her... Feel nothing. Before, she would have longed for it and held him there, but now she wanted to give up. She felt so lost even though her only help was right there, hugging her even. She felt a tear roll down her cheek and she quickly grabbed her other paw and squeezed, Don't cry , you idiot. She told herself, You've caused a commotion and now you're going to show him your weaknesses? Shut up. You're worthless. Ember pushed Cove away. She fell back. Did she want the warmth of a body beside her only to remind her it would leave one day, like everyone else did? She curled herself into a ball, trying to stop her sobs. You're weak! He's going to pity you now! Look what mess you've stuck this poor wolf into. Part of Ember knew she was lying to herself about that. Part of her felt Cove cared. But... Part of her didnt think she was lying. Part of her believed she was worthless and thinking about it made it worse. "I'm sorry Cove. You're a good wolf for sticking with me. I would've left a long time ago." Her words weren't this clear, her face still buried in the ball she had turned herself into, muffled by sobs- sobs she was desperately trying to stop. She wondered if she would ever be able to believe she wasn't completely worthless, wondered if she would ever trust anyone.
Thinking back on Cove's words calmed her, knowing he enjoyed her. But she still felt bad, still felt worthless. She layed in the grass letting the world go blank and letting herself cry until she couldn't breathe. She was angry for being so dramatic, but she felt no need to stop herself, no drive. She wondered if this was what trust was.

He sat there. Listening to her words and watching her think. He knew what she said. He didn't ponder on his own words or his own thoughts. He simply sat there. Breathing and letting her be alone in words and letting her mind process what was going on. He knew how crucial this moment was. He wanted to be there for her but only physically. What he said was all true but he left out possibly the most important detail. That she was helping him feel again. Not much sensstion but it was something. The numbness in him was starting to go away. But it came back. It always comes back. But at least he couldnt feel it. He left her alone. He wouldn't talk unless she started it. He didn't want to say anything he didn't have to. He could go his whole life wiout swaying another word. If he was alone. But he was with ember.

Ember calmed herself down and stood up. She felt Cove's silence and could tell he was perfectly content with it. So she sat back, making sure to not make another sound. She studied this wolf, wondered what he thought , and she wondered about herself. Why was she so upset lately? She decided on anxiety and that all this adventure with a new person was just shaking to her usual routine. She sat back on her heels and stared at Cove, suddenly exhausted. "Cove." She muttered, but stopped. She didn't know where to go from here. She sat back, "I'm sorry." She felt completely awkward and couldn't really put into words what she wanted to say.

Ember nodded and lay down too. She hoped she'd feel better in the morning.
