Kalinaw was patrolling the vast landscape that made up the beautiful Wind Country. She had just left the 1,000 mountains to make sure the territory was secure.

She could feel the cool drafts pushing her along as she glided over the grass-filled plains.Feeling the wind among her feathers and fur made her a special type of calm. SHe was approaching a stream when the calmness disappeared.

There was a wolf.
It stood calmly, no sign of fear in its stance.
This was not good.

Kalinaw circled back, leaving a thirty-yard buffer so the wolf would not notice her shadow. And it was pretty easy to notice up close-Kalinaw is a large wolf-and she knew this so she aloowed a buffer. She circled the wolf several times before deciding to go in. She dived straight at it from forty yeards back, with her wings tucked for speed and aiming. Time seemed to fade away as she hit the back of the other wolf. Hard. Kalinaw found herself standing over the wolf, baring her teeth and puffing herself up."Who are you,tresspasser?"
